MeesterKunst (MK) supports the development of exceptionally talented female artists. MK would like to offer a steppingstone for starting female talent. One can think of a stipendium to promote a master’s degree, an artist-in-residency, a special art publication or (partly) making possible a solo project that takes the artist further in her professional career. The applicant is expected to make a personal financial contribution as well.
MK invests in the development of a promising artistic career and appreciates the experiment and research that this requires. Female artists who are further along in their career and who can clearly demonstrate that they would otherwise not be able to achieve a certain step or goal without a contribution from MK, may also be eligible for a donation (for example, a contribution towards an honorarium). The applicant must have experience with art related projects to be eligible for a donation.
MK mainly focuses on individual female artists. Therefore, festivals and group exhibitions are not supported. If a project is too local and/or only focused on the immediate environment, if it is not of overriding importance, then it is not eligible for a donation within MK.
The board of MK meets four times a year throughout the year. The completion of the procedure takes some time. To avoid the accumulation of complete applications, we do not provide information about MK’s meeting schedule. We therefore recommend submitting the application at least three months before the start of the project. If a project has already started, the application will not be processed.
MK receives many requests. In the event of rejection of the application, no correspondence will be entered into about the reason for this, nor will information be provided about this (by telephone).
